How do Calgary charities get in the running?
Simple! Encourage your supporters to become members of 100 Women Who Care Calgary.
Members may nominate one eligible local charity per meeting
The nominating member speaks on behalf of the charity
Three charities are drawn at random
Members vote
The selected charity shares the impact of the donation at the next meeting
Who Is Eligible
To be considered for nomination, an organization must:
✔ Serve Calgary and surrounding area populations
✔ Be a registered charity in good standing with the CRA
✔ Be able to issue tax receipts directly to individual members
Nominations must be submitted at least 7 days before a meeting to allow time for eligibility review.
Why this matters
Charities presented at meetings often benefit from increased awareness, volunteers, and community support — even when not selected. Many members join specifically to learn about local charities, making this a valuable exposure opportunity.
What About National or International Causes?
We care deeply about many national and international causes, but our focus is local. With over 2,000 registered charities serving Calgary, we prioritize supporting organizations working directly in our community.
National organizations are only considered if funds remain in Calgary and directly benefit local populations.
